Keds is the first mass-marketed canvas-top / rubber sole "sneaker" in 1917
by US Rubber
(just realized a lot of rubber makers move on to creating great shoes
when there was gaps between the war and less need for rubber)
the term sneaker comes from the rubber sole allowed the wearer to 'sneak' around without
making much of a noise !
